Now available in both monochrome and colour, this well-loved camera is offered in a new, non-cooled version — making it even more accessible to those starting out in serious imaging or looking for a second cam. (This listing is for the non-cooled version)

Despite the lower cost, performance remains exceptional. The ASI533MM delivers high quantum efficiency, extremely low read noise, and a comparatively high frame rate — perfect for both deep sky imaging and high-resolution planetary work. With 20 FPS at 14-bit ADC, it rivals dedicated planetary cameras, while excelling at nebulae and galaxies. It’s also a much more economical option than modifying a DSLR.

The sensor specs closely resemble the ASI183MM/MC, but with larger pixel size and therefore lower resolution. For ultra-compact widefield scopes, the ASI183 may still be the better match — but for slightly larger APOs, the ASI533 hits a sweet spot.
