With its fast f/4 focal ratio and rigid carbon fibre tube, this 8" Newtonian is optimised for deep-sky astrophotography using a dedicated CMOS/CCD astro camera or DSLR. Every element — from the oversized secondary mirror to the dual dovetail bars — has been engineered to support stable, high-contrast imaging across a wide field.

High-Performance Primary Mirror:
Features a parabolic 203mm (8") aluminised mirror with 94% reflectivity and a quartz (SiO₂) protective overcoat, ensuring long-lasting optical brightness and clarity.

Oversized Secondary Mirror:
70mm minor axis secondary mirror with 94% reflectivity delivers excellent field illumination, ideal for large sensor formats.

Stiff Carbon Fibre Tube:
Engineered to maintain collimation and focus during long exposures; internally blackened to maximise contrast and minimise stray light.

2" Dual-Speed Rack & Pinion Focuser:
Supports heavy imaging setups with smooth, precise focusing. Holds focus reliably throughout the night without slippage.

Precision Collimation Aids:
The primary mirror is factory-centred with a collimation mark to support fast and accurate alignment in the field.

Dual Mounting Bars:
Includes a Losmandy-style dovetail mounting plate underneath and a Vixen-style dovetail bar on top for additional accessories such as guide scopes.

Note: A coma corrector is recommended (not included) to achieve optimal field correction at f/4.
